Hello SWEETFCers,
Kelly here with an update from Seth: he made it across the ice fall to Camp I, then continued straight on up to Camp II where he is now resting in his tent. He said the trip up was really difficult – he likened it to a 50 mile run (which on the Seth-o-meter of pain ranks somewhere between “I deserve a LOT of pizza and beer for finishing this thing” and “Oooooooow!!!” but nowhere near the as-of-yet-never-pronounced “I don’t want to do THAT again!”) He said the altitude was very fatiguing, and he continues to be so impressed with the guys he’s working with. This time he’s got his Kindle and his iPod so he’s better set for spending some recovery time in the tent. He’ll be snuggled in there overnight tonight and all day tomorrow before getting up early Thursday morning (Wednesday afternoon here) to ascend to Camp III. Send him good strength and love!
~Kelly
